At the Harvest Years Senior Center, we offer assistance with paying utility bills that are overdue via the Salvation Army. If you are over the age of 60, you may be eligible for utility assistance. One of the main options for this type of financial assistance is the Good Neighbor Energy Fund (GNEF). This can help pay for natural gas, light, and electric bills. Individuals can only apply, at most, once per year. However, for those who are 60 years or older, an exception could be made. To qualify, you must meet certain conditions including meeting income levels and having a disconnect notice or an unpaid utility bill that must be paid before moving into a new address in Delaware.
